Description

Shifting Gears Wants You!

Shifting Gears is a Saint Vincent de Paul program that helps give transportation to the homeless and working poor. Helping them get to their jobs and giving families in the Family Evening Meal who don’t have transportation some much needed family time. Our Family Bike Program gives each member of the family a bike. They come during our evening meal, and work with volunteers to fix the bikes they will be given.

I am looking for a volunteer who has mechanical skills, in bikes if possible, but any range of skills will work. The volunteer position will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 during our Family Evening Meal. You will help in supervising the families participating in the Family Bike Program, and assist in bike repairs.

(This is not a paid position. We are looking for a volunteer to do all or part of this job description depending on your schedule and interests. When you apply for this job, it will ask you to attach a resume. We'd love to see one if you have one, but don't worry if you don't. Just attach any Word or PDF document that you have handy, even a blank page.)
