Teach Cosmetology to students with class size of 7-9 students. Responsible for all administration of cosmetology curriculum and student’s records, including grades, curriculum alignment, pacing and EP/IEP progress reports. Responsible for classroom safety, behavior management and therapeutic interventions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Fully licensed by the Virginia Department of Education to teach in the areas to which they are assigned. Must hold a valid teaching certificate in the endorsement area of cosmetology or be eligible for a provisional cosmetology teaching license. Teachers who are hired with a provisional teaching license must pass all requirements within the three year time frame.
The individual must be flexible, caring, and understanding for students in an alternative educational setting. They will also be responsible for integration of Future Career and Community Leaders of America, the student organization.
Teachers who have completed two years of successful teaching experience in an accredited public or non-public school outside the state of Virginia may be exempt from assessment requirements. See Department of Education Regulations in Virginia.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS
Hold or be eligible to hold a Virginia Teaching License with proper endorsement(s). Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
