Description

Our client is seeking a temporary, full-time Staff Accountant to work side-by-side with the Financial Controller to build, systematize, and maintain all aspects of the company’s general accounting, financial reporting, and internal operations processes. This position will gain exposure to all business operations as a result. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles, internal controls, and business operations, in addition to being able to work comfortably with numbers and people.

The Essential Functions for the Staff Accountant are:

  • Carry out general accounting operations by recording company financial transactions
  • Billing, receivables, and cash application
  • Accounts payable processing and vendor management
  • Reconciliation of account balances and bank statements
  • Interface with payroll and benefit administration
  • Internal financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
  • Assist with external financial reporting and coordinating with external auditors and accountants
  • Internal control design, implementation, documentation, and enforcement
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Develop and implement processes that support continuous improvement and strong business results
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and other KCF leadership staff

The Qualifications of the Staff Accountant are:

  • Must be willing to touch all pieces of the financials including integration of operations into finance
  • Must exemplify some combination of the following attributes: Smarts, Grit, Drive
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with emphasis in accounting, is required
  • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Must be familiar with QuickBooks and/or Accounting ERP system
  • Must have very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Relevant certification or on track to obtain (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
