Accounting Assistant
Scarborough, ON
$40,000- $45,000

Our client, a well-established organization specializing in Health and Safety products and equipment is currently looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join their team! In this role you will report to the Finance Manager and interact with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Accounts payable
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval
• Enter invoices in the accounting software
• Identify invoices for payment and obtain approval. Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
• Prepare and process all aspects of disbursement –EFT, cheques, online banking payment, credit card payment
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and resolve discrepancies and issues
• Investigate and problem solve any unpaid invoices to ensure timely payment
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately; provide supporting documentation for audits
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Assist in monthly closing

Accounts Receivable
• Invoicing
• Cash receipts application
• Credit card payment and refund processing
• Follow up on collections
• Answer customer inquiries related to accounts receivables

Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience in manufacturing/wholesale/retail industry
• Diploma in Accounting or college courses in accounting
• Experience with accounting software
• Intermediate/ advanced in Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables); Word
