The Program Access Office provides inclusion services to individuals with disabilities in parks and leisure programs.  We also participate in community events and outreach, meeting prospective families requesting our services. We are looking for dynamic support staff to serve our patrons and promote our services to the community across Montgomery county.

Program Access Support Staff Opportunities
 
In programs.
You will be supporting Parks programs and events by actively participating alongside all participants, assisting with adaptations and modifications, and facilitating social interactions. Some candidates may be responsible for implementing behavior plans and maintaining documentation, as needed. All selected candidates must provide excellent customer service and be able to effectively communicate with supervisors, staff, participants and parents/guardians, while maintaining confidentiality regarding disability, medical and personal information.
 
Out in the community.
You will be responsible for representing the Program Access Office by greeting the public at events, fairs, or expos. These events may include sharing resources and information at an information booth or table while interacting with prospective Park patrons promoting Parks programs and Program Access Office services.
 
The following opportunities are available (pay is commensurate with experience and education):
 
Support Staff Aide ($11.50 - $14.50).  Minimal related experience required; minimum age 16.

Support Staff I ($11.65 – $15.25, depending on experience/education)
Minimum age 18; requires high school diploma and one-year experience working with persons with disabilities or two or more years of work related disability experience.

Support Staff II ($11.70 - $16.00, depending on experience/education)
Minimum age 19; requires two years of college in related field and one-year experience working with persons with disabilities or four or more years of related disability experience.

Support Staff III ($11.75 - $16.80, depending on experience/education)
Requires four years of college in related field or two years of college plus three years of experience working with persons with disabilities or six or more years of related disability experience.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Qualified and hired applicants may be assigned to a facility and work as a facility staff team member until a modification is requested. Program locations and assignments are subject to change based on program and participant needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

College degree in appropriate field is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Supplemental Information:

All selected applicants must attend mandatory trainings; CPR, First Aid and AED, Inclusion/Program Access Orientation, Disability Characteristics, Behavior Management techniques, Documentation & Communication, and other designated trainings.

These positions are seasonal and do not include a benefits package. A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

Work may be indoors or outdoors.
