Part Time   Volunteer Position

VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS

We are the 4th Regiment (Panther City Fencibles) located in Fort Worth, Decatur, Mineral Wells, Abilene, Wichita Falls, Denton, and Weatherford, Texas.

Texas State Guard-Army-Enlistment Information:
Resident of Texas for at least 180 days
Age 18 to 70
Reasonable Good Health
Pass criminal background check
Valid Texas Drivers License
Prior Military Service NOT required
If Prior Service-Honorable discharge required-Keep Your last rank held
Federal Service retirement NOT affected
NO overseas deployment-Only Deployed in the State of Texas

Helpful skill sets: Military experienced Attorneys, Fire and Rescue, Medical (Doctors, Nurses, Dentist, Dental Asst., Paramedics, EMT, Veterinary Physician), Law Enforcement, Civil Affairs, Chaplain, Communications, IT, CPA, Education, Historian

Education: High School Diploma, Home School Certificate or GED required

Educational and age requirements exist for Warrant Officer and Officer commissioning.  A 2 or 4 year College degree and official college transcripts; from an accredited institution; are required.

NOTE: By volunteering to join the Texas State Guard you will become part of the official State Militia of Texas. The Texas State Guard is authorized as an organized state militia under the authority of Title 32 of the U.S. Code and Chapter 437 of the Texas Government Code. The Texas State Guard reports to the Governor and The Adjutant General (TAG). You must maintain proper height/weight and Army Regulations in aspects of appearance, military bearing, personal conduct, and professional ethical conduct.

NOTE: This is a non-paying position. You must provide ALL of your own equipment. This is the true historical tradition of an organized and well regulated state militia.
