Description

Position Requirements

·      Perform day-to-day accounting duties

·      Oversee accounts payable process

·      Analyze operating statements and address any variance from budget

·      Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations

·      Prepare monthly financial statements

·      Manage monthly billing process for asset management fees, development fees and reimbursable expenses

·      Ensure timely processing of payroll and expense reimbursements

·      Oversee employee benefits program for development company employees

·      Participate in annual budgeting process

·      Act as primary contact with bankers

·      Monitor cash daily for over 100 bank accounts

·      Open, close and manage entitlements for checking, money market and lockbox accounts

·      Coordinate year-end audit and tax preparation with external auditors and tax preparers

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

·      Certified Public Accountant or Master’s degree a plus

·      Experience working with Yardi accounting software packages

·      Experience working with JP Morgan Access banking platform

·      Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills

·      Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills

·      4+ years’ total work experience with at least 2 years of experience in real estate accounting

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

·      Acute attention to detail while maintaining visibility of the big picture

·      Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

·      Ability to read, interpret and apply complex agreements (partnership, management and loan agreements) 

·      Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines and effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously

·      Ability to work with limited up-front guidance and take ownership of work product  

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty

·      Strong analytical and accounting skills

·      Strong MS Office skills with advanced experience MS Excel skills (Vlookups, Sumifs, pivot tables, queries, etc.)
