We have an outstanding Contract position for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Greenbelt, MD surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide electrical/electronics support to the Sample Analysis at Mars (SAM) Test Bed Instrument.

- Diagnose, repair, and verify the proper functioning of any anomalies and/or failures that may occur in the SAM Test Bed instrument suite.

- Provide electrical/electronics support to the on-going Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer (MOMA) development effort to include working with the MOMA GB, ETU, and FM mass spectrometer units, as well as providing support in the fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering related to Mass Spectrometers and their related hardware.

- Serve as Electrical Lab manager; MOMA Harness Project Design Lead for QSM, FM, Flight Spare (FS) and EGSE.

- Design and test EGSE#2.

- Provide support for EGSE integration with both FM and FS MS hardware.

- Support both FM and FS (WOAs, Procedures, Safe-to-mate, EGSE reconfigurations, lab testing).

- Support lab test and integration.

- Provide support for harness builds.

- Provide support for harness builds for several other ongoing and new projects at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

- Support MOMA-MS FS electronics build and testing activities, as required.

- Assume lead role in all Safe-to Mate testing activities.

- Design harness and critical EGSE schematics using CAD software.

- Travel to GSFC contractors and partners, including international partners, may be required.

- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive workenvironment.

- Perform other duties as necessary.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus five or more years related experience.

- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.

- Related technical experience may be considered instead of education.

- Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

- Experience in end-to-end functional testing required.

- Experience in procedure development required.

- Prior work with Mass Spectrometers desirable.

- Experience with harness design, development, and routing a plus.
