SERVICE TECHNICIAN - OMAHA/LINCOLN NEBRASKA

Municipal Emergency Services (MES) and Lawmen Supply Company are the Nation’s largest suppliers of personal protective equipment and law enforcement products to the first responder market. MES is also the Nation’s largest service provider to the first responder market offering on-site service solutions to emergency responders nationwide.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Service Technicians will conduct periodic service calls at customer locations conducting preventative maintenance services- per training.
  • Service Technicians are expected to troubleshoot and perform repairs on customer equipment as required- per training
  • Service Technicians will preschedule jobs, plan routes, manage time, travel and daily tasks efficiently and effectively. Service Technicians are expected to schedule service work two to four weeks in advance- MES provided customer lists
  • Service Technicians are expected to promote and sell services including:  product maintenance, equipment upgrades, preventative maintenance and replacement parts.
  • Service Technicians are expected to manage their on-board or mobile parts inventory and must possess the ability to communicate with office on parts replenishment
  • Service Technicians must attend manufacturer-based training in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Service Technicians must successfully pass manufacturer certification testing prior to working on any equipment
  • Service Technicians must maintain manufacturer certifications and must keep up to date with changes in procedures, service notices and recalls of serviced products
  • Service Technicians must be able to work remotely and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Service Technicians must perform mechanical repairs and adjustments to self-contained breathing apparatus, breathing air compressors, fire suppression equipment and/or hydraulic rescue tools per manufacturer and MES provided training
  • Service Technicians are expected to possess computer skills allowing the completion of digital work orders and use of computerized testing equipment
  • Service Technicians must perform quality work with attention to detail on life-saving equipment for emergency first responders
  • Service Technicians must be willing to travel extensively and be away from home and the workplace

 

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must be mechanically inclined and must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates must be a "self-starter", goal oriented and be motivated to succeed
  • Candidates must be extremely well organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Candidates must be reliable, dedicated and possess the ability to identify needs and focus on details         
  • Candidates must demonstrate an ability to maintain and adjust priorities as needed
  • Candidates must have the ability to lift packages and containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Candidates must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma

 

Preferred Experience (not required):

  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire equipment, work as a mechanic, electrician or previous experience with hydraulics.
