TITLE: Social Media Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Marketing 

REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager

JOB SUMMARY:  In this full-time role, you will be an online Ambassador for our brand. You will be expected to monitor brand activity across a broad range of social media sites and blogs, cultivate and grow online relationships with key target audiences, and seek new opportunities to integrate social media into our strategic marketing objectives. The Social Media Coordinator needs to be someone who is well-versed in social media and experienced using social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and others.


  • Monitoring of social media sites, alerts, blogs, and clipping software for any mention of the brand or related topics; researching and coordinating the appropriate response in a timely, effective manner.

  • Participation in online conversations, personifying the brand in a positive, helpful light by listening to users, being sensitive to hot button topics and issues, and providing a solution whenever possible.

  • Researching and replying with succinct answers to highly technical question will be a regular part of your day. 

  • Research on related topics, posting new content for key user audiences to maintain a positive, relevant presence for our brand.

  • Ensure that all brand information is accurate across social media sites/networks (videos, maps, photos, account descriptions, contact info, etc.)

  • Implement the launch of new products within the social media sphere, researching the appropriate sites and platforms, and identifying opportunities to leverage and expand the reach of the new product launch. 

  • Work across departmental lines to ensure that the strategic direction and message of our brand is executed consistently and properly in the social media sphere.

  • Establish and maintain an ambassador network (market influencers) across key social media sites, monitoring their activities to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and success.

  • Conduct research and analysis of new social media trends, sites, tools, and news; reporting to the rest of the team on significant industry developments and making recommendations for how best to support our brand.

  • Providing weekly as well as monthly reporting to the team on the success of (and challenges facing) all of our social media efforts. 


  • 5+ years professional work experience; a background in Marketing, Advertising, and/or Public Relations is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a crucial part of the success of this position, specifically the ability to present ideas and information clearly, personify the voice of the brand, adjust tone and nuance with the audience in mind, and engage with other social networking users in a personal and meaningful way.

  • Previous experience working with social media on behalf of a brand is desired. If applicable, links to the online presence of these brands will be requested during the application process.

  • You must have active, established accounts across key social media sites including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. 

  • You must have experience and inclination to work in a collaborative team environment, where good ideas and experienced opinions are highly valued.

  • A passing knowledge of simple HTML, image processing and editing software (Photoshop), and video processing/editing software (QuickTime) is not required, but preferred. 


  • Basic photography skills are required. 

  • Ability to travel the US and potentially abroad. 

  • Bachelor degree; a focus in Public Relations, Marketing/Advertising, Communication Studies, or another related degree is a plus.
