Directly responsible for coordinating the import and delivery of 400+ ocean containers into various US ports and reducing costs while maintaining communication with customs brokers, 3PLs, carriers, forwarders, and management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Work in conjunction with vendors, shippers, forwarders, SSLs, customs brokers, and US customs to receive cargo seamlessly
 Receive ISFs from vendors and file with brokers
 Receive and check copy documents ensuring all necessary documentation is in place
 Coordinate the receiving original shipping documents with shippers and local banks
 Constantly monitor container ETAs, LFD, customs/FDA releases, empty container returns
 Plan OBL surrender and freight collect payments on time to prevent any demurrage charges
 Maintain the imports Airtable data records for internal visibility to all departments
 Coordinate payments with accounting and management when terms are CAD Sight, or Copy BL
 Negotiate the best market rates with customs brokers, truckers, 3PLs
 Review and approve invoices (carriers, customs brokers, 3PLs, etc.) and file disputes when necessary
 Take action to expedite container releases at ports or CES when necessary: pay customs exam fees, Pierpasses, terminal fees, contact SSL for releases, etc.
 Stay up to date with the latest import trends, changes in tariffs/duties, international trade agreements and relay information to pertaining parties
 Improve processes, import data visibility, and efficiencies where need be
 Create, maintain, and archive physical file of all shipments for accounting and audit purposes

 Promptly coordinate the re-export of customs rejected or FDA refused cargo by the designated deadline
 Oversee the documentation and transit of drop shipments from origin to the buyer’s destination
 Provide support to the international team – Grupo Canela – when necessary: contact customers, track shipments, approve shipping instructions, audit shipping documents, etc.


 Proven experience in international business and import/export processes
 Familiar with all modes of transportation including domestic, air, and ocean
 Experience with incoterms and international payment terms
 Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
 Self-starter
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Understands or has experience managing 3PL relationships
 AS in business administration, supply chain or relevant field
 Proficiency in MS Office programs, QuickBooks, SAP, and NetSuite systems
 Problem solving and analytical skills
 Excellent Communication Skills – both written and verbal
 Customer/Client focused
 Detail-oriented with a penchant for quality work
 Prompt and consistent in daily work habits
 Results oriented

Sueldo MUY competitivo, prestaciones superiores a las de ley, horario de oficina, trabajando 5 días a la semana.
