Will be responsible for assistance in meal preparation, setting up serving line and the over-all clean-up of the kitchen.
WAGES: $17.80/hour
JOB SITE: Vanwey Dining Hall, Tinker Air Force Base
At least two years of experience in food service or completion of a certified food training program is preferred. Dependability and professionalism are required at all times while on the job.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to pass background checks that are required to enter work site and any other background check agency deems necessary
- Must meet badge requirements for all assigned buildings.
- Must meet AbilityOne eligibility requirements as a person with a significant disability, if applicable

- Must have regular and punctual attendance
- Must be able to work independently
JOB CONDITIONS:
This position is scheduled on a weekly basis. The workweek may vary to fulfill operational needs and will include a 30 min break.
- The work week is Saturday through Friday with a thirty minute meal break. Breaks are given when schedules allow. Some positions will require individual to work a split shift.
- Required to complete DR/TWP’s Food Sanitation and Safety course, Contractor’s badge, and vehicle registration before employment begins.
- This position is non-exempt and does receive overtime pay at time and a half for over 40 hours worked per payroll week.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing up to 8 hours
- Able to lift maximum weight of 50 pounds vertically*
- Able to lift maximum weight of 25 pounds horizontally*
- Weights of items exceeding max weight capacity require a two-person lifting policy
- Able to carry above described weights a maximum distance of 100 feet*
- The position requires standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, crouching, and kneeling. May also grasp, push, pull, drag and lift equipment and other items.
- Must have mobility, vision, and dexterity levels, appropriate to the duties to be performed
- Additional physical requirements to be considered depending on the area assigned.
*NOTE: Employee will be coached for lifting more than maximum weight or for non-use of required safety equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Senior Cook in preparation of food items as outlined on AF Form 662.
- Knowledgeable in use of all equipment required to fulfill tasks of position.
- Responsible for cleaning all equipment after each use which includes: table (both top and bottom shelf), deep fryers in the evening, warmers, tilt grill, ovens, kitchen hoods, and the wiping of walls as needed. Other related duties as assigned by Supervisors or Senior Cook.
- Change oil in fryers weekly (Saturday night) or as needed.
- Perform senior cook and line server duties when instructed by either line supervisor or operations supervisor
- Report any equipment in need of repair to Supervisor.
- Responsible for contacting Supervisor for other instructions when primary duties are completed.
- Responsible for attending all scheduled meetings/trainings, as assigned.
- Responsible to be familiar with, and comply with, all Dale Rogers Training Center/Tinker Work Project policies and procedures.
- Dress according to Dale Rogers Training Center/Tinker Work Project’s dress code policy.
- Responsible to clear away leaves, paper, scrape gum from sidewalks, and litter from entry areas of Bldg. 5905.
- Assure removal of snow from sidewalks and stairs using snow shows.
- Assure spreading of salt in the walkways before, during, and after inclement weather.
- Oversea proper use of power sprayer to clean and sanitize loading dock or sidewalks as needed.
