Description

Within this position, the Occupational Therapist will evaluate people with disabilities and/or limiting conditions to support their employment success by conducting intakes, administering both informal and formal evaluations using the latest evidence-based practice, create intervention plans, consultative plans, and work programs. This position is responsible for ensuring employees meet AbilityOne/SourceAmerica program eligibility and for maintaining their continued eligibility status throughout employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
  • Licensure in therapy, counseling, or related field
  • Experience in relating to people with disabilities
  • Familiarity with Vocational Rehabilitative programs

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current/Active Oklahoma driver’s license
  • Current Oklahoma Occupational Therapy License
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Successful completion of OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry Check and other background required by agency.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Maintain state mandated minimum liability insurance on personal vehicle
  • Reliable personal transportation

JOB CONDITIONS:

Normal working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch. Hours may vary according to agency needs. This position is exempt and does not receive overtime pay. Travel to the various contracts is required.

  • Knowledge of the rehabilitative process in job matching, skills assessment, and evaluation
  • Able to interpret and evaluate documentation of disability to meet AbilityOne/SourceAmerica program requirements and guidelines
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Develop outcome-based employee information and feedback

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires using a computer keyboard, mouse and screen to input and review data, write reports, etc.
  • Travel required between locations
  • The position requires the ability to access areas using stairs
  • May require extended walking and standing.

AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES: Main Campus

  • Must have knowledge of DRTC's Mission and Philosophies.
  • Must be familiar with all DRTC policies/procedures and organizational structure of the agency, including all agency safety and emergency procedures.
  • Comprehends and complies with all standards set forth by regulatory agencies i.e., DRS, DDSD, within their realm of program involvement.
  • Uses agency tools and procedures to insure organization and consistency.

AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES: Federal Contracts

Comprehends and complies with all standards set forth by regulatory agencies i.e., DOL, OSHA, and SCA within their realm of program involvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct intake & assessment to determine AbilityOne eligibility for new hires to the program
  • Conduct required evaluations for all AbilityOne employees to remain eligible under the program
  • Review and maintain medical files annually for audit purposes
  • Responsible for utilizing an employee-centered approach to support employees and build natural supports, accommodations, environmental modifications
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with managers and external employers and community advocacy on behalf of the employee
  • Training managers in accommodations and other methodologies so they are equipped to partner in the employee’s success
  • Evaluate employee’s physical and mental abilities and analyze to develop plans to meet the employee’s employment goals
  • Complete and maintain necessary records
  • Plan and implement programs to help employees acquire skills to adjust to work environments
