Job Description

Scope:
Under general supervision by the Warehouse Supervisor, the Logistics Specialist II is expected to learn, understand and acquire experience in the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Property Management, Inventory Control, Procurement, and Transportation (of Goods). This position provides CONUS support for our overseas government contracts as well as the exam management contracts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the following services:
Performs or assists with the shipping of dangerous or hazardous materials in accordance with the International Air Transit Association (IATA), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Manages material and equipment in support of overseas contracts, to include requisitions, inventory control, movement and tracking of company and client-owned property.
Operates computer systems designed to track and monitor material life cycle (from acquisition through final disposition) in accordance with applicable regulations.
Operates forklift and other general warehouse equipment in a safe and responsible manner: loading and unloading trucks, moving pallets to and from shelving, etc.
Communicates with Program Management Office (PMO), and overseas Logistics staff to ensure project requirements are being met and to continually strive for process improvements within contract criteria.
Assist Logistics Specialist 1 employees on process improvement strategies and assist with troubleshooting where needed.
Complete cycle counts as directed by supervisor.
Ability to understand Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) in relation to government contracts.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
High school diploma with 1-year of experience in Supply Chain Management, Property Management, Inventory Control, Procurement, and Transportation (of Goods).
Good attention to detail.
Basic computer knowledge which includes having basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications and other computer related programs.
Must have a valid license and have the ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Preferred Qualifications:
CPPS Certification (from NPMA)

Other Requirements:
Performs duties in a safe manner.  Follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
Ensures safe operating conditions within an area of responsibility.
Forklift certification or must be able to become certified within the first 30 days of employment
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to work unfavorable conditions includes working in a non-temperature controlled environment and working in direct sunlight.
Work involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
Will require bending and stooping.
