JOB DESCRIPTION: Lighting Engineer

FSG is seeking a motivated candidate to manage RFP and project design development in the "ESCO" Division. In this capacity you will review, markup, comment, collate data, assemble formulae/calculations/macros, delegate responsibilities, package, and administer all oversight relating to the successful submission of RFP's.

The Lighting Engineer will report to a Team Lead out of Perth Amboy, NJ . The ESCO Division is focused on large lighting projects, which can include smart cities, street lighting, tunnels, bridges, railroads, airports, retail, commercial and industrial, and municipal.

This job will encompass, but will not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

    • Perform Engineering Development and assemble datasets with the use of formulae, pivot tables, calculations, and macros related to estimating, project pricing, proposal generation, and submission of all required data • Provide accurate Pricing Quotes for proposals inclusive of labor, material, equipment, general conditions, overhead, and profit • Prepare Proposals/RFP's to customer on deadline and conforming to the specific needs of the RFP • Identify retrofit & replacement measures, select products, and obtain pricing to fit the needs of our customers • Maintain internal communication with peers and deliver detailed, accurate, and complete submissions • Secure necessary documents and requests for Information (RFI) from customers


JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lighting Engineer

A successful candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical or lighting system rework including experience working on Energy Efficient Lighting Projects. Proficiency with advanced lighting controls is strongly preferred. • Possess mastery-level understanding and ability to use MS Excel; in particular, exceptional skill specific to databases, calculations, formulae, pivot tables, data manipulation, and macros. • Understanding or background in sales or customer service in alignment with assembly, overseeing, managing, and submitting of proposals. • Ability to multitask while staying organized; Have strong coordination abilities and exceptional attention to detail • Strong verbal and written communications skills including the ability to work with, and communicate effectively to team members, vendors, manufacturer's representative agencies, and distributors • Ability to delegate and track outstanding items to remain on deadline; including tracking using PM Software • Positive customer service and listening skills • Act professionally and ethically at all times! • Self-motivated and able to work as a member of a dynamic team • Possess a valid driver's license • Availability to travel when necessary (Estimated 25% travel) • Must be able to pass standard background checks, as required to access ports, airports, and restricted government locations
