The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining current systems and keeping IT staff updated on the latest tools and processes. Performs system upgrades, identifies and solves any problems that arise with computer networks and systems, and monitors to identify how performance can be improved. Specifies system requirements and design solutions and researches and makes recommendations on server system administration.

Configures, installs, and maintains server hardware and software, personal computers, system software, software applications, and printers.
Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security.
Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
Handles first level escalations from the helpdesk.
Develops and communicates standards for use, operations and security of systems and data.
Coordinate’s activities of hardware, software, support, and training vendors.
Installs and tests software upgrades.
Evaluates system and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations.
Coordinates third-party maintenance for system hardware and software services.
Installs and maintains various servers.
Helps users with network connections and passwords. Manages upgrades and backups as assigned to the Department.
Assigns and maintains user login and passwords.
Designs, implements, and integrates new and existing data technologies. (strong knowledge in PowerShell shell scripting preferred)
Performs daily maintenance, operation, and evolution of the server software, including system security, monitoring usage statistics and logs, modifying configuration settings and backing up the system(s).
Troubleshoots and resolves system-related problems as required.
Establishes effective change control procedures.
Develops, maintains, and periodically tests network logical and physical security, contingency backup and disaster recovery plans for all components of the network.
Prepares statistical reports on system usage and reliability.
Assists in the preparation of the IT budget.
Utilizes knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, TCP/IP and Internet services such as HTTPS and SFTP users.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards.
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines, such as telephone, computer terminal, adding, calculating, duplicating and fax machines, check encoder and printer.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training.
Performs duties as assigned by management and may be assigned to work at any branch.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience
Four years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience of network infrastructure design, including communications, security hardware and software.
Thorough working knowledge and understanding of voice and data networking technology related activities as would normally be acquired from four years of increasingly responsible related experience.
Knowledge of operations systems such as Windows, TCP/IP and Internet services such as HTTP and https.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
MCP, MCSA, or equivalent desired.
Computer systems/software to effectively perform job.
Other Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Travels, attends, and participates in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.
