Position Overview

The Customer Care Specialist will act as a liaison between Kowalski Construction and customers, with a primary function of collecting customer payments reporting to the Staff Accountant.

A Day in the life 

As the Customer Care Specialist your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Customer Relations:

  1. Consistently strives to maintain customer satisfaction
  2. Acknowledges, identifies, and assesses customers’ needs and communicates any complaints to the appropriate personnel, all within time frames detailed in company policy
  3. Builds sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open communications via phone, mail or email


  1. Responds to direct incoming customer calls delivering accurate and complete information using the right tools
  2. Enters accurate QuickBooks Estimates, Invoices and Credit Memos, when applicable
  3. Initiates customer calls and/or e-mails to obtain payments and payment status
  4. Performs all aspects of collections
  5. Determines the responsible party for payment
  6. Updates Accounting Log with accurate notes and dates
  7. Records and maintains information received from customers into DASH program ensuring notes are accurate, timely and legible
  8. Maintains and confirms job information and status in QuickBooks, including participants ensuring accuracy
  9. Communicates with claims team members to notify of payment and job status


About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in collections
  • Customer support experience
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities
  • Strong phone contact, handling skills and active listening
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively with little supervision
  • Consistent follow-through in all areas
  • Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel
  • QuickBooks
  • DASH software knowledge a plus

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Construction experience a plus
