Dermalogica is searching for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team. In this role, you will be well versed and interested in all aspects of purchasing including but not limited to leveraging market opportunities, supplier and commodity management, risk mitigation, and innovative/business growth. In addition to this, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.

*Please note this position is a temporary role on the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use open order report to follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery, request new purchase order, and/or update purchase order dates based off vendor feedback
  • Communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates, track incoming supply, and inform planning if any delays may impact schedule
  • Perform data entry on jobs to assist team members when needed
  • Attend weekly vendor calls and routinely provides qualitative and quantitative supplier feedback
  • Develop a strong and mutually beneficial vendor relationship
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters, investigate inventory discrepancies, resolve delivery/receiving and payment issues
  • Support innovation opportunities by facilitating new product development with vendors
  • Plan phase-in/phase-out carefully to minimize excess and scraps
  • Other Assignments may be requested by Senior Supply Planning Manager

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • 4+ work experience in a similar role
  • Proficient understanding of materials procurement
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience identifying and implementing novel solutions to existing operational issues, preferably technology based
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to fail fast and iterate quickly
  • Your approach will be results-oriented with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to build productive relationships with peers.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the use of data to derive insights and inform appropriate actions.
