The Role

The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for the management of the Inventory Control team and functions to ensure the correct balance of customer service and inventory investment. Functions include supervision of stock ordering, inventory health, backorders, supplier management, system integration & performance, review of key performance indicators, and communication with leadership.

Job duties:

  • Management of inventory control personnel and processes to ensure healthy parts inventory
  • Supervision of required inventory control systems
  • Partner with CAT corporate and Foley leadership on inventory management processes and initiatives
  • Build inventory processes and systems to provide better support to operational departments including recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Analyze parts usage and trends to optimize inventory health and minimize backorders
  • Provide assistance with ledger reconciliations between CODA and DBS
  • Educate and assist parts personnel on proper inventory procedures
  • Work with parts operations to provide input into planning & budgeting by forecasting revenues, expenses and capital assets
  • Create a yearly plan of objectives & goals for the department as well as other business plans
  • Oversee supplier management to include streamlining existing suppliers, evaluating potential new suppliers and maximizing purchasing potential
  • Evaluate purchasing trends and make adjustments as necessary
  • Provide responsive support to Parts Operations to serve customers. Maintain open communications
  • Monitor KPI reports for accuracy. Report to management on status of KPI performance against targets and suggest corrective actions if needed
  • Conduct analysis to determine cause for emergency purchases and identify corrective actions to reduce controllable backorders

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Has 1+ years of experience in parts and/or inventory management
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Ability to perform basic and more complicated mathematic fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Has advanced knowledge of database structure and theory
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in excel

What will put you ahead:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • Previous accounting experience
  • AS400 based ERP experience
