The Finance and Accounting Systems Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and technical support for various finance and accounting technology initiatives within the Credit Union.  Leads efforts to improve and streamline finance and accounting processes including budgeting, asset liability management, regulatory reporting, month-end close, and business intelligence analytics.  Will also act as a technical liaison across departments for new technology initiatives.  Skilled in process improvement, business intelligence reporting, and getting the most out of technology.

Evaluates existing opportunities for process improvement within finance and accounting and recommend and/or manages roadmaps to achieve improvement efficiency and effectiveness milestones
Provides technical ownership of finance and accounting technology and assists the Credit Union in getting full value from the technology it uses.
Assists in modeling annual budget and expense projections.
Executes monthly analysis for asset liability committee reporting package.
Develops and reports on Key performance indicators – compares and evaluates departmental and enterprise metrics with industry standards.
Ad Hoc reporting – generates static and trend reporting relating to portfolio exposures, credit risk, Credit Union member financial wellness, and loss mitigation.
Project finance/cost benefit analysis – generates analysis about the financial impact of projects under consideration.

Other duties include:
Fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training.
Performs duties as assigned by management and may be assigned to work at any location.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics) or equivalent is required.
One to three years’ experience within a financial institution performing analysis or equivalent is preferred.
One to three years’ experience with database and business intelligence platforms is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Familiarity with SQL queries and relational databases.
Familiarity with statistical analysis software (R, STATA, SPSS, etc.)
Familiarity with FP&A concepts and software
MS Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel) proficiency required.
Advanced Excel skills preferred (Data analysis, Pivot Tables, VBA)
Fundamental understanding of financial products such as deposit accounts and loan products.
Fundamental understanding of financial concepts, such as discounted cash flow valuation, credit and interest rate risk, and pricing of financial instruments.
Knowledge of accounting concepts including General Ledger accounts and entries and financial statement analysis.

Other Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports.
Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
