DERMALOGICA is seeking an exceptional VP of US Marketing

The dynamic and talented Vice President of US Marketing will develop, drive, and execute the strategic and tactical marketing plans for Dermalogica. With key accountability delivering on US targets and secondary accountability disseminating assets and best practices to key emerging subsidiary markets. Leading, managing, and coaching a full team, the Marketing VP is charged with providing exceptional levels of marketing support in all areas of our business and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works with the US General Manager to create, implement and communicate short and long-term strategic marketing plans and vision.
  • Provides leadership through business direction, motivation, coaching, skill development, product knowledge, industry knowledge, competitive knowledge, and performance management.
  • Works closely with sales management and education to develop and implement tactical programs that optimize our selling and educational efforts.
  • Responsibility for social media and influencer management, including strategy, content planning, community management, and analytics across all channels.
  • Responsibility for US Creative team overseeing management and content creation, photoshoots, digital and print collateral.
  • Oversees consumer awareness paid media budget managing media plan across channels measured on ROI.
  • Develops and executes 360 plans for all new product launches across consumer and professional channels including post-mortem.
  • Oversees development of all merchandising including Dermalogica Flagship store vision, key retail partners (such as Ulta & Sephora), and Independent Salons. Responsible for merchandising execution in the US and sharing vision and coordination with global markets.
  • Manages all trade marketing activity with the team including promotional plans and forecasting, Salon support programs, and communication flow.
  • Establishes and maintains an ROI-driven approach to marketing spend allocation and manage expenses to budget.
  • Identifies key performance indicators required to track business performance and ensure the team is managing to KPIs and to budgets.
  • Develop complex go-to-market plans that prioritize projects and resources across multiple channels and objectives, including Professional Beauty, Specialty Retail, and E-Commerce.
  • Develops brand campaigns, content, best practices, and go-to-market strategies to execute in the US and cascade globally guiding our international marketing teams.
  • Responsible for support of key emerging subsidiary markets China, India, Italy, and France.

Management Responsibilities:
  • Directly manages the U.S. Marketing Management Team
  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education and/or Experience:
  • A proven track record in Marketing with demonstrated achievement, with a BA/BS or MBA
  • Most importantly, requirements are significant evidence of progressive marketing management success with prestige consumer beauty products in the professional and retail arena
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment is highly preferred
  • Proven staff management and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a team that delivers results and influence cross-functionally
  • Incredibly effective communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with omni channel business models, with a deep understanding of Professional Beauty, as well Specialty Retailers and E-commerce.
  • Experience managing budgets and extensive business unit level P&L responsibility.
  • Experience managing Global marketing projects

  • Strong relationship builder with staff, peers, and customers
  • Must be able to drive and to frequently travel by own car and plane for business purposes at least 15% of the time and on occasion, this will include weekends
  • Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database Management skills
