This opening as Strategic Sourcing Manager presents you with a fantastic opportunity to be a part of building exciting new purchasing capabilities within Dermalogica. You will be well versed and interested in all aspects of strategic sourcing and procurement including but not limited to leveraging market opportunities, supplier and commodity management, risk mitigation, and innovative/business growth. You will be excited by the development of new systems, processes, and approaches to support functional performance improvements.

Alongside this, there is the need to determine and implement appropriate performance metrics as a basis for future performance improvements in pursuit of world-class levels of supplier performance in cost, quality, innovation, delivery, and responsiveness. You will be someone who can do this in a smart and intelligent way, merging best-practice thinking in procurement with the latest technology and software developments available.

In addition to this, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team to higher levels of performance, by developing a clear vision for the function and setting a clear direction for the team, as well as fostering a culture of skills development, coaching, and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all sourcing activities associated with direct material services and inventoried category supplier selection and performance management.
  • Lead the category supplier selection and evaluation process to achieve optimal Total Procured Value (TPV) to include total cost of ownership (TCO), supply risk, net working capital, business and innovative support and growth.
  • Responsible for category supplier base evaluation and documentation to ensure appropriate capabilities and capacities are available to support Dermalogica future growth volume.
  • Develop a strong and mutually beneficial vendor relationship to drive collaborative supply chain improvement activities across the supply network.
  • Lead the development and execution approval of all supplier agreements to include price and volume agreements, memorandum, and ongoing adherence to contractual terms.
  • Provide sourcing support for interdepartmental programs and indirect purchase agreements where applicable to category managed.
  • Develop and implement a robust category Scorecard process to include both quantitative and qualitative evaluation of performance internally and externally of the supply base.
  • Participate and act as lead support for Dermalogica cost savings initiatives through continuous collaboration with the finance team.
  • Partner and influence internal stakeholders in Marketing, Innovation, and Development in identifying timely and realistic opportunities to support organizational scalability and innovation.
  • Manage the risk mitigation and business continuity assessment review with a focus on intent base escalation and communication.
  • Lead a team of category specialists in advancing the procurement and sourcing risk/reward-based approach to achieve Best in Class solutions.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree and ideally a relevant professional qualification and certification
  • 10+ years of relevant strategic procurement experience with a strong track record in developing and implementing sourcing programs and processes in support of improving Total Procured Value (TPV)
  • Experience in identifying and implementing novel solutions to existing operational issues, preferably technology-based
  • Demonstrated ability to fail fast and iterate quickly
  • Results-oriented approach with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to build productive relationships with peers
  • Demonstrated use of data to derive insights and inform appropriate actions
