Description

oint Staff Warfighting Capability Analyst for The Pentagon, Washington DC 20301
The position supports the Joint Staff J8 Warfighting Analysis Division (WAD) in understanding, modeling and interpreting U.S., ally, partner and adversary warfighting capabilities.
Salary range: $125 to $150K depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
•Identify and develop system performance, employment concepts and operational performance data about U.S., ally, partner and adversary capabilities from a wide variety of sources.  Interpret and leverage these resources to assist in modeling of U.S., ally, partner and/or adversary capabilities and concepts in mission and campaign-level modeling, simulation and analysis tools.
•Perform data collection, research, and analysis of threat systems, and U.S. platform and systems data in all domains (air, sea, space and land).  Review and report U.S. and adversary platforms and systems performance.
•Use knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, Service program office and capability developer functions to develop mutually supporting relationships, operational understanding and warfighting logical modeling.
•Use knowledge of Service acquisition communities/program offices to create relationships and develop understandings as required.
•Communicate effectively.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
•Inquisitive desire to understand emerging U.S., ally, partner, and adversary capabilities, concepts, and operations and how they affect U.S. operations.
•BA and 12 years of experience, or MA and 7 years of experience.
•At least 5 years of experience in U.S. and adversary warfighting capabilities and concepts.
•Knowledge and understanding of U.S. and adversary weapon systems capabilities, platforms, equipment, doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures.
•Demonstrated written and oral ability to engage DoD senior officials.
•Security Clearance – Active DoD Top Secret with SCI eligibility (polygraph not required).
•Experience handling classified materials.
 
Desired/Preferred:
•Knowledge/experience in operational intelligence warfighter support with proven ability to navigate JWICS, SIPR, and Unclassified networks to contact and or collect information critical to study efforts.
•Broad knowledge of larger U.S. Intelligence Community and what products and services they produce.
•Ability to understand combat and combat support systems and warfighting concepts, processes and performance to inform modeling.
•Experience in combat development and/or future centers and/or intelligence support to acquisition.
•Recent experience evaluating the following for the U.S. and Non-U.S. countries is a plus:
•All-source analysis of U.S., ally, partner and adversary ability to coordinate/integrate military operations across domains (e.g. air, ground, sea, space and cyber)
•Evaluating capability and resources of military services to perform current and future joint missions
•Evaluating multi-domain service capabilities with regard to operational art; tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs); and, order of battle.
•Experience in advanced capability development, emerging capability employment, and operational limits to U.S., ally, capability and/or partner options.
