Education Guidance Specialist

Purpose of the Role: To actively fill all education activities, including classes, Undergraduate Student Day, on-tours and events in assigned Dermalogica Learning Space.

Strategy Expectations:
  • Responsible formaking outbound calls to potential and existing students, as well as Dermalogica accounts in assigned territory to advice of upcoming classes, new product launches, on-tours and events.
  • Process and administer student registration process: enroll students in the class via data entry; follows-up with students to confirm registration and attendance to class; processes class payments
  • Guide and counsel students over the phone using effective telemarketing techniques to ensure class registration.

Education Calls and Marketing Objectives:
  • Proactively make outbound calls to potential and existing students and Dermalogica accounts to promote upcoming classes, new products launches, on-tours and events in Dermalogica Learning Spaces.
  • Answer and respond to inbound registration calls and recommend appropriate classes.
  • Follow-up with students to confirm class attendance; collect and process class payments.
  • Follow up with cancelled students to rebook for future classes.
  • Ensure data integrity through the IDI database and follow enrollment procedures.
  • Use questioning and listening skills that support effective telephone communication.
  • Apply the elements of building positive rapport and proper telephone etiquette with different types of students over the phone.
  • Recognize, document and alert the supervisor of trends in registration calls.

Customer service objectives:
  • Deliver a consistent and positive customer service experience by portraying a professional company image through phone interaction.
  • Ensure student retention with the focus on building long-term relationships by delivering 5 star customer service at all times.
  • Handle student and stockists inquiries and provide timely and accurate information and delivers the highest level of customer service.
  • Support and provide superior service via phones, e-mails and faxes for both outbound and inbound calls.

  • Competent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for communication
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills

Education / Experience:

High school diploma required and one plus years experience working in a Sales/Customer Service call center environment (preferably with a manufacturer or distributor in the professional skin care or hair care industry).

The expected hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. It is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
