Staff Management |SMX is currently in search of a Controls Engineer for our client, a well-established manufacturing company located in Hammond, IN. This is a direct-hire position with great benefits. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates must be open to work up to 12 hours and to off-shift calls in cases of emergencies . Duties:
The Controls Engineer is responsible for the reliability and performance of all plant industrial automation, control, and communication systems in support of plant goals for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost control. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Must be at least 18 years old.Able to Lift 50 pounds., required education: Bachelors.
Work Location: Huhtamaki, Hammond, IN 46320.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated to range between $31.25 - $50.48 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills and experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive skills and experience. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.

Position Requirements:
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley automation systems including Factory Talk, Contollogix, RSLogix; also, Rockwell DCS, PlantPAX, HMIs, Beckhoff, and PLCs.
- Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
- Working knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems.
- Working knowledge of DCS, HMIs, PLCs, I/O, VFDs, Sensors, etc.
- Minimum 3 years experience within a manufacturing facility
