Description

This position is responsible for development and growth of Community Living Engagement Program and retirement options for people with developmental disabilities. Responsible for all aspects of the program, including monitoring and upgrading as needed; training on behavior intervention; provides crisis intervention and reviews individual related reports.

WAGES: $20.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: DDS Programs Director

SUPERVISES: 

  • Community Living Engagement Technicians
  • Community Living Engagement Employment Training Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with people with disabilities with physical/medical issues required. A Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Experience in the planning and coordination of meaningful activities.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Base knowledge and articulate regarding the field of Developmental Disabilities and geriatric supports.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • 18 years old or older;
  • Possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License in order to operate Agency vehicles;
  • Pass OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry Check, reference checks, pre-employment drug test and any other background check as Agency requires or deems necessary.

  • Safety Sensitive Position Identification: A safety sensitive position (SSP) is a position in which an individual has a key and direct role in an activity where impaired performance could result in:
  • a serious incident, or
  • an improper or inadequate response to a potentially serious incident.

RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Operational Management:

  • General oversight of all activities occurring in the program. Responsible for maintaining program systems year round to reduce the time required to prepare for reviews.
  • Primary Medication Technician for the program (MAT).
  • Establishes and maintains the program books and program notes as required by funding source(s).
  • Recruits, hires and conducts orientation, training and evaluations for department employees. Implements a training development plan to address staff experience and skill gaps.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to stand up to 8 hours
  • Able to move maximum weight of 50 pounds (vertically)
  • Able to move maximum weight of 25 pounds (horizontally)
  • Able to move above described weights a maximum distance of 100 feet
  • Regularly required to talk with or listen to others. Frequently required to sit and use hands to handle/feel objects, tools or controls. Vision requirements include depth perception, ability to see peripherally and ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus. Required to be able to operate a vehicle for travel/transportation purposes. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Required to be able to operate a vehicle for travel/transportation purposes.
  • Additional physical requirements to be considered depending on the needs of the individuals
  • and the skill being trained and can include sitting, bending, stooping, moving, grasping and stretching.
  • The demands of the job include being individually responsible for a group of clients and therefore must be able to physically demonstrate first aid skills including seizure care; perform CPR; use an AED and perform the Heimlich maneuver.

JOB CONDITIONS:

  • Hours for the position may vary according to agency needs. Normal working hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with lunch taken with the individuals, and two fifteen minute breaks if the schedule allows.
  • This position is non-exempt and receives overtime pay at one and one half times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek beginning Saturday 12:00am through Friday midnight.
  • This position is classified under Partial Remote Work Designation - approximately 10% to 40% of job functions can be typically completed remotely based on a 40 hour per week work schedule. Eligible up to 8 hours per week of remote work. Remote hours are not guaranteed, and staff are eligible for up to this amount of remote work, based on agency need and supervisor approval.
  • Primary work environment is office/indoor, moderate noise level, climate-controlled.
