Staff Zone is a temporary and temp to hire staffing agency in the construction industry. We are seeking ROCKSTAR'S to employ as Firewatchers in Richmond, VA area. SZ can promise you an environment that not only encourages your best, but also rewards it with plenty of safety awards and recognition.

Key Duties:

· Following safety protocol and OSHA regulations on a commercial job site

· Patrol constantly to watch areas of work

· Have an understanding of safety procedures and how to implement them.

· Maintain safety features, such as fire extinguishers and alarms, as stated in the safety permit.

· Survey the workspace for any potential risks or leaks before, during, and after the workday.

· Prepare to operate fire extinguishers, water hydrants and hoses.

· Remain vigilant on-site whenever employees are doing work.

· Keep a record of any risks and solutions.

· Contact and inform emergency personnel as soon as any issues arise.

· Report and map any signs of smoke.

· Clean up any litter and other waste when spotted on the grounds.

· Make sure that all lookout equipment is operational.

· Investigate small smoke trails.

· Inform visitors of all fire safety policies.

Qualifications

· Commitment to safety rules

· Good hand-eye coordination

· Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled climates Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. and stand long periods

· Ability to follow all safety instructions and procedures.

· Attention to detail and desire for quality work

· Firewatch certification (Please upload a copy)

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

· Able to work in all elements of the outdoor environment which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.

· Capable of working in physical positions that may include kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, twisting etc.

Hours – Day Shift (Mon-Fri)/Saturday Availability

Pay: $20-$24 hourly
