Starting Pay: $26.94/hour
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Minimum 36 hours/week)

Are you ready to build a strong foundation in electrical maintenance while continuing your education? Join our team as an Electrical Apprentice and gain hands-on experience under the guidance of skilled mentors. You'll rotate through various departments, learning how to maintain and repair the equipment that keeps our operations running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Receive on-the-job training in electrical maintenance and repair of mill equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Report faulty materials, environmental hazards, or improper equipment operation.
- Assist with installations, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic controls and systems.
- Perform rounds and check machinery to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
- Assist with servicing the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems as needed.
- Work with related diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeter, paper recorder, multi-voltmeter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.
- A strong interest in electrical systems and industrial maintenance.
- 1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment with maintenance exposure (preferred, not required).
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills to collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Gerdau will provide tuition reimbursement as you are completing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electrical Engineering Technolgy. Apprentices are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA or better throughout the program.
