ESTIMATOR

PITTSFIELD, MA

Do you have a sharp eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a passion for transforming drawings into real-world structures? Our client, a leader in precast and prestressed concrete manufacturing, is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join their team in Pittsfield, MA.

This is your opportunity to play a critical role in major infrastructure and construction projects by producing accurate, value-driven cost estimates that support sales and project development teams. You’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to shape the future—one estimate at a time.

DUTIES

• Analyze project drawings, specs, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify set-up and production costs.
• Review and maintain project documentation within our Sales & Estimating system.
• Communicate with sales leads to understand deliverables, timelines, and project scope.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Support conceptual and final cost estimating, including value engineering opportunities.
• Attend pre-bid and turnover meetings, preparing all related documentation.
• Create and review bid documents, scope summaries, and subcontractor quotes.
• Perform accurate drawing take-offs and prepare sales drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Download and organize project files from FTP sites, ensuring proper version control and access.
• Assist in driving the overall Sales Initiative alongside the Sales Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in estimating, construction design, or 3D drawing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project).
  • Strong understanding of precast/prestressed concrete preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience performing detailed take-offs and sales drawings to support estimates.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents and convert them into actionable, cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and file management (SharePoint, FTP sites, etc.).
  • Solid math skills, especially in volume and weight calculations of unique shapes.
  • Experience in on-site construction a plus.

SALARY:  $65-80K (Based on experience)
