Description

 

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes. This role manages core accounting functions, prepares financial reporting, supports audits and tax filings, and provides leadership to the Reception/Accounts Receivable position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and process all accounts payable activities.
  • Manage daily cash tracking and cash flow reporting.
  • Review, process, and reconcile employee expense reports
  • Reconcile company credit cards, including American Express, Chase Visa, and fuel cards
  • Perform purchase order (PO) invoice matching and ensure timely, accurate payments to vendors                       
  • Serve as backup for payroll processing and support payroll administration as needed.
  • Enter direct deposits and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Manage company insurance audits and annual renewals.
  • Maintain all corporate and operational licensing requirements.
  • Prepare and file sales/use tax returns in compliance with regulatory deadlines.

Complete month-end reconciliations and prepare financial statements for review.

  • Maintain and update specialized financial tracking tools, including:
  • Coordinate year-end processes with the company’s CPA firm

Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financials for Madison Office Center; ensure year-end integration with Excellance financials.

  • Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financials for owner’s real estate company; oversee year-end coordination with the CPA
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the Reception/Accounts Receivable position, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and customer support functions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience; previous supervisory experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.                    
  • Ability to work with various departments within the company and understand the relationship between the functions of the departments
  • Must be dependable, engaged, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Knowledge of MAS 90 preferred; be able to troubleshoot problems when necessary
    • Must have experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
