Job Type: Locum

Work Schedule: M-F and Weekends
A medical center in northern New Jersey, less than an hour outside of New York City, has an opportunity for a Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage.
Opportunity Overview:
• Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
• Patient Volume: 8 per day, 2 admissions
• 11-bed Neuro ICU
• Must be comfortable with independent line placements
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses
During your time off, explore nearby nature reserves, catch live theater performances at a well-known regional playhouse, and walk through a charming downtown area.

Qualifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner New Jersey state license
• Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• One year of work experience as Nurse Practitioner
• One year of EMR experience
• Board Certified
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
• Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
• Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
• Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
• A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
• Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
