A hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, has an opening for a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage.
Opening Details:
• Schedule: 4x 10-hour weekday shifts
• Night and weekend call required, 1:6 rotation
• Patient Population: Adults
• Duties: OR first assist coverage, some rounding
• Required Procedures: Neurosurgery, orthopedic spine, trauma; no cranials
• Support Staff: 6 surgeons, 7 APPs
• EMR: Epic
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses
During your time off, unwind at a lakeside terrace, explore a campus art museum, and stroll through a large botanical garden.

Qualifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin state license
• Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• One year of work experience as Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner
• One year of EMR experience
• Board Certified
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
• Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
• Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
• Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
• A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
• Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
