Associate Attorney – Litigation
Albany, NY
Our client, a well-established law firm in Albany, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of litigation experience to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to manage sophisticated commercial matters while working alongside an experienced legal team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial, contract, or construction litigation (other litigation backgrounds will also be considered) and be comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution.
Responsibilities include:
- Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy
- Manage discovery, including responses, document review, and interrogatories
- Prepare for and defend or conduct depositions
- Negotiate settlements
- Make court appearances
- Maintain and organize electronic case files
- Conduct initial client consultations
Qualifications:
- J.D. and admission to the New York State Bar
- 2–5 years of litigation experience
- Commercial, contract, or construction litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cases independently
Compensation:
- $90,000–$160,000, commensurate with experience
